In 2012, after starting my career as a civil litigator, I made a decision to take my career in a different direction and started my career in public service. As an Assistant City Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for the City of College Station, I used my civil experience to advise the city in various legal matters, while also working along side the Municipal Court and College Station Police Department to prosecute misdemeanor offenses. During my two years with the City of College Station, I developed a love for prosecution and tried more than 100 cases, including 17 jury trials.
Eleven years ago, I was given an incredible opportunity to join the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office as a felony prosecutor. Since joining the District Attorney's Office, I have grown as prosecutor and continued to use my experience as a civil litigator as the Chief of the Juvenile and Civil Divisions. I have also tried numerous criminal jury trials while assigned as a prosecutor in the 272nd and 85th District Courts. In addition, I have worked in the Intake Division evaluating cases for prosecution, assisting our local law enforcement officers with investigations, and presenting cases to the Grand Jury and spent 7 years learning the dynamics of family disputes and family violence situations as a member of the specialized family violence team.

Since 2017, I have taught aspiring police officers from around Texas at the Central Texas Police Academy in proper procedures for juvenile detentions and investigations, family violence and sexual assault laws and investigations, and asset forfeiture. I am also a certified trainer for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association and a member of the Brazos County child advocacy Multi-Disciplinary Team with Scotty's House.
Prior to moving back to College Station in 2012, I stayed busy in various capacities in Harris County. I was a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association Leadership Academy in 2010–2011 and served as the Continuing Legal Education and Professional Development Co-Chair in 2011–2012 (member 2010–2011). I also served on the Judicial Events Committee from 2010 to 2012 and the Arts and Entertainment Committee for 2011–2012. I was also a member of the Greater Houston Partnership (HYPE) Subcommittee on Professional Development and a member of the Houston Bar Association Habitat for Humanity and Administration of Justice Committees in 2007–2008.
Outside of work, I am a wife and mom. On Saturdays, you can find me on the soccer field cheering on my nine-year-old daughter as she pursues her love of soccer. If I’m not watching soccer, I’m helping with homework, or enjoying family dinner with my parents. On Sundays, you can find us at First Methodist Bryan.
My husband, Jonathan, is a program manager and works in spaceflight training management at the Johnson Space Center and supports NASA and its international partners on the Space Station Program. He is also a proud Aggie Class of 2004 with a degree in political science. Our daughter has inherited his love of aviation and all things space related.
I inherited my dad’s love for cooking and my mom’s love of baking. As a result, I am known around the courthouse for my sweet treats, especially at Christmas. Gingersnaps anyone?
In addition to my legal career, I am committed to serving my community. Since moving back to Brazos County, I have been an active member of multiple local organizations. Currently, I serve as a parent representative for the CSISD Community Action Committee. I am a member of the Leading Women Express Network, American Business Women’s Association, Republican Women of Brazos Valley, and Brazos Valley Republican Club. I am also former President of the Brazos County A&M Club and former Coach’s Night Co-Chair. I am a sustaining member of the Junior League of Bryan-College Station and during my active tenor served as a committee co-chair for Charity Ball. In 2013, I also helped re-establish the Brazos County Young Lawyers Association as the Vice President in 2014-2015. Since 2013, I have been an alumni advisor for Delta Gamma and served as the President of the House Corporation.
