The 85th District Court is one of four district courts in Brazos County, District courts are the highest-level courts in Texas counties. Brazos County District Courts, in general, handle felony criminal cases and associated misdemeanors, as well as juvenile criminal cases, a broad range of commercial and civil disputes, and family law disputes. The 85th District Court is the only district court with a focus on both civil and adult felony criminal cases.

While my law degree may be from the University of Texas, I am absolutely 100% an Aggie at heart and moved back to Brazos County as soon as I could. I graduated from Texas A&M with a BBA in Finance with Business Honors in 2002. While at A&M, I proudly represented the Class of 2002 as a class officer, E-Walk chair, Visitor Center tour guide, and officer for Delta Gamma. After graduation, I pursued my law degree and graduated with honors. I was named as the top advocate in my graduating class (the Neiman Cup) and as a member of the Order of Barristers. While in law school, I was an editor for the Texas Law Review and an officer for the Board of Advocates. I also had the privilege to study Constitutional Law under Justice Antonin Scalia and argue in front of the Federal Circuit.

I started my legal career as a commercial litigator working for a multinational law firm (King & Spalding) before moving to a local Houston firm. For almost eight years, I gained valuable experience with a broad range of clients and legal matters. I represented a variety of companies, from Fortune 500 oil and gas companies to local family-owned businesses, in complex commercial litigation matters, with a touch of personal injury and mass tort litigation thrown in. I conducted countless depositions, participated in numerous mediations, and represented my clients in both domestic and international arbitrations, and in trial courts and appellate courts at the State and federal levels. I also successfully represented clients in matters of first impression in oil and gas and employment law matters.
